    It’s true he won’t …
It’s true he won’t recoup the cost of the equipment. I don’t think he paid for most of it himself anyway. Besides these little experiments will one day help create cost effective versions. One last note on hydrogen it is safe. It’s safer then propane because when hydrogen leaks it just goes straight up into the atmosphere instead of lying near the ground where it can explode. Batteries die, they’re bad for the environment, they lose charge, and they create toxic gas when they’re recharged.

Not only is it a …
Not only is it a nightmare, but for a while at least, the city of L.A. was charging extra permit fees for solar power projects. Knowing that the homeowner was getting a tax credit for the installation, the city saw the opportunity to make an extra profit off of the backs of homeowners.

Can you imagine the nightmare of getting the building permits for all this stuff in California?

seems like a battery backup would have been a whole lot cheaper and safer than those hydrogen tanks

    how about trillions …
how about trillions on a war in Iraq to reduce the amount of oil produced there and cause more chaos and deaths than under Saddam’s regime?

    My comments were …
My comments were very ‘Tongue-in-Cheek’, but the ‘Electroforming’ theory holds water, Many ancient Egyptian artifacts have been tested, and the ultra-thin deposits, coupled with extra thickness on ‘elevated’ features are all typical of electroforming. Check out ‘Throwing Power’ of electroplating solutions. it explains the phenomena clearly. I used electroforming myself to make gold ear-rings, shaped like little monkeys hanging from a branch. the electroform process reduced weight.

    no one really knows …
no one really knows how the pyramids were built, they have many chambers in them that don’t have soot from open flames in them. The ‘baghdad batteries’ were thought of being used for electroplating, but there have never – ever – been a light bulb found so the ‘battery’ theory doesn’t hold water, or light.

His wife had to get a solar powered vibrator since the outlets in the house didn’t work anymore, just like the hubby.

    Most of what Mike …
Most of what Mike Has built was from off the shelf parts that came from different industry applications, This system has very expensive parts and took alot of labor and design to put it all together. Some of the products used were donated by the manufacturers because the project was part of the development and exposure that is needed for these industry’s to grow. Some of those details are left out of the story. The pay back is from the exposure and only partially from the energy created.

Impressive well done explanation; owner seems to need significant technical skill and understanding; very thorough application integration

$150k + corporate donations payback period not explained
Retrofit on an existing house questionable

  21. canaanexpress says:

how can i get that …
how can i get that system for my home?

  22. GuyInvincible111 says:

    Missing information …
Missing information: efficiency. There has to be a large loss of power by hydrolyzing water and then recombining H2 and O in a fuel cell. There is also a loss of power by converting DC to AC to power appliances such as TVs and computers that then convert AC to DC. Lastly, what about hydrogen embrittlement of the steel walls of the storage tanks?

    56 panels times …
56 panels times about $500 per panel, that’s about $30k just on the solar panels. Awesome system, but **sigh**…. I long for the day when regular people can afford enough solar to power the entire household…

  24. Ezechiel593 says:
